Outside Bets

Let’s open with the simpler of the two. Outside bets are perfect for more conservative play. The payout for scoring one of these wagers is low, due to their higher player’s edge. Why are outside bets lower risk? Well, it’s simply because they target a whole group of numbers at once. The odds of winning are much better when one bet covers a group of twelve or eighteen numbers. In no particular order, outside bets are as follows:

• Dozen: Punters bet on 12 number sections of the board. If you put money for the first dozen, you’ll be wagering numbers 1-12. The second and third dozen cover numbers 13-24 and 25-36, respectively. If you win this bet, you get a 2:1 prize.
• Column: Technically speaking, this is the same wager as dozen. The difference is that it selects a column of numbers, rather than the first twelve numbers. The odds of winning are the same, and so is the 2:1 prize.
• Colour: When looking at a roulette table, you’ll notice the option to bet on a colour. Players can wager for the number that appears to be black or red. You lose money if the drawn number is the opposite colour, or is a zero. The payout is 1:1.
• Odd/Even: Similarly to colour bets, odd/even is just guessing whether the drawn number is divisible by two. Like it, the prize for this wager is an even bet, or 1:1.
• Low/High: A less risky version of dozen or column bets. You wager on whether the drawn number will be from the 1-18 or 19-36 group. This pays a 1:1 prize.

Inside Bets

If you fancy a bit more risk to each spin, inside bets are your thing. For us at IndianCasinoClub.in, these have always been our favourites. The chance to win is lower, but the payout is higher. These inside bets are available on all roulette tables:

• Straight/ Straight Up: You’re putting all your hopes on a single number. Let’s say, for example, you place a Straight bet on a 21. You will only win if the ball lands on that particular 21! The prize for winning is 35:1.
• Split: Players are wagering on two adjacent numbers, by placing the chip between them. Since you’re betting on two numbers, the payout is halved to 17:1.
• Street: A chip is placed at the end of the row, covering three adjacent numbers. If you win this wager, you’ll receive an 11:1 prize.
• Corner: You place the chip on the corner between four numbers. If any of these four numbers are chosen, you win the 8:1 payout.
• Line: To stake on this combination, you have to put your chip between two rows, containing three numbers each. That means you’re betting on six numbers at once, for a total reward worth 5:1.

Another inside bet exists, though it doesn’t appear in all games. This is called the Five bet, and it covers numbers 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. This bet can only be placed in American roulette and grants a 6:1 payout.
